Our family recently got a pet. Can you call a fish a pet?? Well, I am. Logan really wants a cat, Luke and I are dog people, so we settled on a fish tank.
Luke wanted a freshwater tank, I think freshwater fish are (for the most part) ugly so "we" decided on saltwater. We did a lot of research because saltwater is a bit more complicated, thus more expensive, than fresh. When we (by "we" I mean Luke) felt comfortable enough with how to run it without killing the fish we started looking into how much it would cost to start one from scratch. HOLY COW!!! We were looking at about 75-90 gallon tanks. I'll spare you the cost break down and give you the bottom line.... are you ready??? I don't think you are but I'll tell you anyway.... $2000... and that's not including fish and the cleaning crew (snails, crabs, star fish). Plus, it takes months to get your tank ready for fish.
We had been looking on KSL for a cheaper empty tank and we had noticed a few people selling the whole enchilada... tank, stand, rock, sand, fish... everything. We found a well established tank in Ogden that we liked and now here we are.
A few of these are blurry but, seriously, have you ever tried to photograph a fish???
